Why am I not receiving SMS abroad?

Our Travel eSIM provides mobile internet only. SMS and calls still work through your regular phone number on your main SIM, so it needs to be enabled.

To receive SMS abroad, your main SIM must:

  • stay turned ON

  • remain connected to a mobile network

  • support roaming in your current country

On iPhone:

  • Go to Settings β†’ Cellular

  • Keep your main SIM turned ON

  • Set Travel eSIM as Cellular Data

  • Check that your main SIM shows signal bars and network connection

On Android:

  • Keep your main SIM enabled

  • Set the Travel eSIM as the preferred mobile data SIM

  • Check that your main SIM is connected to a mobile network

Important:

  • SMS are delivered to your regular phone number, not to the Travel eSIM

  • Some mobile operators may require roaming services to be enabled for SMS reception

  • SMS and call roaming depends on your mobile operator and may not work in some countries or network conditions. This is not directly related to the Travel eSIM. If the issue persists, contact your mobile operator or visit a local service center.

  • Android settings and menu names may vary depending on device manufacturer and OS version
