How to avoid roaming charges?

Our Travel eSIM provides mobile internet only. To avoid roaming charges, ensure all mobile data is routed through the Travel eSIM, not your main SIM, while your main SIM is enabled only for SMS and calls (if required).

What can cause roaming charges

  • Mobile data used by the main SIM instead of the eSIM

  • Automatic switching between SIMs for data

  • Background apps using mobile data before the eSIM is set as active

iPhone

  • Go to Settings → Cellular

  • Keep both SIMs ON (main SIM + Travel eSIM)

  • Cellular Data → select Travel eSIM

  • Cellular Data Switching → OFF (prevents automatic fallback to main SIM)

  • Main SIM → Data Roaming → OFF

Android

  • Keep both SIMs enabled

  • Set Preferred mobile data SIM → Travel eSIM

  • Disable mobile data on main SIM or turn off its data roaming option

  • Disable auto switching / smart switching if available
